1. What GapKarma Is

GapKarma is a free peer-to-peer platform that connects tech professionals who have career gaps with helpers and mentors. We facilitate connections — we don't guarantee job placements, referral outcomes, or any specific results.

2. Who Can Use GapKarma

GapKarma is for tech professionals with career gaps (seekers), those who've returned from gaps (helpers), and professional career mentors/advisors. You must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate information during sign-up.

3. Community Guidelines

  • Be genuine — use your real identity and accurate career history
  • Be respectful — treat every member with kindness and empathy
  • No selling — don't use GapKarma to sell consulting, courses, or services
  • No spam — don't send unsolicited bulk messages
  • No harassment — zero tolerance for abusive, discriminatory, or threatening behavior
  • Respect privacy — don't share someone's private information without consent

4. Your Account

You're responsible for your account and everything that happens under it. Keep your LinkedIn account secure since that's how you log in. You can delete your account and all data at any time from Settings.

5. Content You Create

Messages, bios, and success stories you write belong to you. By posting on GapKarma, you grant us permission to display your content on the platform. If you delete your account, your content is permanently removed.

6. Reporting & Moderation

If someone violates these guidelines, report them. We review every report and may warn, suspend, or ban accounts that break the rules. We don't pre-screen content, but we act on reports promptly.

7. Liability

GapKarma is provided "as is." We do our best to keep the platform running and secure, but we're not liable for the outcomes of connections made here. Helpers and mentors volunteer their time — they're not employees of GapKarma.

8. Changes

We may update these terms as GapKarma evolves. We'll notify users of significant changes. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
